The Story Behind the Movement

Founder of the International Community of Africans in Diaspora (ICAD), Moses Okeoghene Timothy Owharo, was the first democratically elected Executive President of the All Nigerian Community, Ghana (ANC-GH).

Seeing the challenges facing Africans in the diaspora — deprivation of voting rights, and exclusion from national and international policy-making — he felt the diaspora needed one voice under one umbrella body. This vision became ICAD.
